The Third Eye: Your Inner Observer.

This symbolic representation of the Third Eye—awareness and wisdom—shows us our own innate potential to develop the inner observer. By practicing mindfulness, we increase the ability to be fully awake to our thinking, feeling, and actions, allowing us to choose the right path. This practice guides us toward the correct understanding and compassion that define true peacefulness.

Developing the Inner Observer

Having a third eye is not about being a miracle person, not about feeling superior or having a higher power than anyone else, but about practicing mindfulness to develop a good relationship with ourselves and with other living things.

Mindfulness practice specifically cultivates the Third Eye by training the mind to be the observer—a non-judgmental witness to everything that arises internally (thoughts, sensations, emotions) and externally (actions, environment). This consistent practice helps us see reality as it is, rather than as we wish it to be or fear it to be.

The Fruits of Awareness

When the Third Eye is developed, it shifts our way of interacting with the world.

  • Clarity and Action: The increased ability to stay present and be aware of our actions allows us to choose the right actions that lead to balance, rather than reacting blindly out of habit or emotion.

  • Correct Understanding: Mindfulness practice helps us live with correct understanding, seeing the impermanent nature of thoughts and feelings.

  • Loving Kindness and Compassion: Developing this inner awareness naturally leads to having a heart full of loving kindness and compassion—first for ourselves, and then extending easily to other living things.

That sustained state of clarity, compassion, and correct understanding is the very meaning of peacefulness in my view, resulting in a healthy and balanced life.

The Third Eye is not about having superior power; it represents awareness and wisdom. It acts as your inner observer, increasing your ability to stay in the present moment and be fully awake to your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Through consistent mindfulness practice, we can all develop this inner sight, leading to correct understanding, genuine compassion, and a deeply peaceful and balanced life.

The ultimate goal of the Third Eye is to achieve true inner peace and compassion.
